Frequently asked questions

Limiter and accessory questions

Does the speed limiter damage the vehicle's engine?
No. The limiter acts on the electronic accelerator signal, without modifying mechanical components. It does not affect the warranty when installed by a certified technician like GSecurity.
What speed can the limiter be configured to?
It is fully configurable. The most common in Guatemala: 80 km/h for personnel transport, 90 km/h for cargo, and special caps for urban routes or school zones.
Does the breathalyzer prevent the vehicle from starting?
Yes. If it detects alcohol above the configured threshold, it blocks ignition and notifies operations in real time. Each attempt is logged with date, time, driver and result.
Can I install just one accessory or do I need the full package?
You can install any accessory individually. However, many customers start with limiter + driver ID + fuel sensor, which is the combination with the highest return on investment.
Does the CAN bus work on every vehicle?
Yes, on all vehicles from 2007 onward and many earlier ones. We verify compatibility before quoting. On very old vehicles we use equivalent analog sensors.
How long does accessory installation take?
Between 2 and 4 hours per vehicle depending on the package. We can move to your facilities in Guatemala City, the interior and throughout Central America. We also work weekends and night shifts.
